Meet Our Founder

Since the age of 14, I felt like a walking basketcase of symptoms—crippling periods that made me miss out on life, PMS mood swings that turned me into a stranger, and facial hair that left me avoiding mirrors. Going to the doctor never made me feel better. In fact, I was left feeling worse—either dismissed and unheard, or handed harsh medications that caused severe side effects.

I spent thousands of dollars chasing every symptom — from prescriptions to treatments to internet rabbit holes — all to no avail.

It wasn’t until an ovarian cyst ruptured and landed me in the emergency room screaming in pain that someone finally uttered the words: “This might be PCOS.” Suddenly, the chaos made sense. What didn’t make sense was how long it took to be seen, believed, and given a name for what I’d been going through.

But Femigist is more than just products. It’s a prioritization of women’s health. In a world where women’s health is often the most affected and the least acknowledged, especially black women, I believe we deserve solutions designed with us at the center—not as an afterthought.
